Dismissal Policy

MMI Academy may dismiss a student from a program on any of the following grounds:

  • Dismissal for Non-Payment of Fees
Full tuition fee is expected to be paid within 5 days after admission to the program is granted. If the full payment is not received within this period, MMI Academy will issue a letter to the students to advise them about their dismissal due to non-payment of the tuition fees. Application and assessment fees are non-refundable.

  • Dismissal for Academic Reasons
Students will be dismissed if they do not make adequate academic progress according to the timelines and policies set by the program.

  • Dismissed – Failure to Attend
A student who doesn’t meet the conditions set in the Attendance Policy may be dismissed. MMI Academy must first make reasonable attempts to contact the student by e-mail. If there is no response after repeated attempts, the Senior Educational Administrator may recommend that the student be dismissed. The Senior Educational Administrator must submit copies of the written attempts to contact the student and a memo confirming the non-attendance of the student.

  • Dismissed – Misconduct
MMI Academy reserves the right to require a student to dismiss from the program if the Senior Educational Administrator considers the student to be unsuited to proceed with the study or practice of the program due to misconduct. Students are expected to meet and adhere to MMI Academy policies, and generally accepted code of conduct while completing the program. If necessary, students should request clarification from MMI Academy. Students who violate MMI Academy policies may immediately be dismissed from the institution.

When a student is dismissed, the academic record will indicate “Dismissed” and a dismissal letter will be issued. A student who is dismissed will not be eligible to apply for readmission for the same program for at least one year. After one year, students who have been dismissed from a program may be admitted to the same program provided they meet all admission requirements in effect for that program at the time they apply. Such applications must be accompanied by a statement from the Senior Educational Administrator who recommended the dismissal outlining the reasons for which the student was dismissed. Compelling evidence must be presented that a more successful outcome is likely if the student is to be readmitted. All cases for readmission must be reviewed and approved by the SEA. Students dismissed from a program more than once are not eligible to be considered for admission to any program in the institution.
